Josh & Rae, Big Brother A and Baby M
"We had the privilege to work with Danielle for the homebirth of our second baby. We were new to the Madison area halfway through our pregnancy and she was the first friend we had here! She brought with her professionalism, broad knowledge and a kind and calm presence. I felt a real accountability to be the healthiest I could during pregnancy and took advantage of her availability to ask questions and get real answers. Danielle made us feel known and cared for in a deep, deep sense. We appreciated the multiple visits for post partum care, emotional check ins and the way she cared for everyone in our family, especially a new big brother in the throes of toddlerhood. Danielle had valuable connections to local services like chiropractic and mama groups. We were so grateful to have her at Baby M's fast birth!" -R.W.
"I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Danielle as our midwife. I was prepared to have my baby at a birth center in Milwaukee, however, when a job change for my husband brought us to Watertown, I began to wonder if I really wanted to continue commuting to Milwaukee for appointments and then have to drive in for the birth. So through some research I found Danielle and began to consider a homebirth. I scheduled a consultation with Danielle at 15 weeks, and from the beginning she was kind, professional, thorough and honest. She answered all of my questions and concerns clearly and honestly. I really felt confident to move forward with her. Throughout my pregnancy Danielle was just wonderful in so many ways. She had very helpful advice for how to ease the common discomforts of pregnancy. I always felt safe and in good hands with Danielle, as she always took her time and explained things to me, often guiding me towards decisions I was comfortable with. She encouraged me emotionally during the ups and downs. When my baby was still breech as I neared full-term, Danielle laid out all my options and was able to gently and non-invasively turn him into the optimal head-down position. Throughout my long labor, she was calm, kind, professional and encouraging.
Our healthy, full-term baby boy was born safely at home in the water, with Danielle facilitating a safe and peaceful labor, delivery, and post-partum bonding time. I really could go on and on about how deeply grateful I am to Danielle. She is a kind and deeply compassionate person, wise beyond her years. She is both focused and professional, yet light-hearted and easy-going. It is so evident that she loves what she does. I hope more and more women are guided by their intuition to choose a more nurturing path for themselves and their babies." -K.C.
Adam & Evelyn, Baby Leif
"Danielle was a tremendous help to my husband and I during my first pregnancy and planned hospital birth. As my doula, she helped calm all my fears and uncertainties, which made the whole experience easier and more fun.
When I went into labor, we were so thankful that Danielle came to our home early on and stayed with us the whole time at the hospital. With Danielle as my advocate, the nursing staff at the hospital knew that I wanted a "hands-off" birth, and there was no confusion. Danielle was always upbeat and helpful through every stage of my very long labor.
My baby was posterior, so Danielle helped me with some positioning that helped him turn and move things along.
Even after the baby arrived, Danielle came to my home to offer much-needed help with breastfeeding. Each time she came, she had helpful solutions and tips that enabled me to get over a hurdle I had been struggling with.
I love that Danielle is an herbalist as well. Her pregnancy tea and post partum bath soaks always made me feel so much better.
Danielle is a joy to be around; she is full of light and calming energy. She truly has a gift for working with families as a doula and midwife. I loved having her with me every step of the way, and strongly recommend her to all my friends." -E. J.
